Description

This comprehensive review course is designed to strengthen your clinical knowledge and support your success on the Anatomic Pathology (AP) and Clinical Pathology (CP) board examinations, whether for initial certification or continuing certification. The curriculum emphasizes evidence-based practice and board-relevant standards of care, integrating updated concepts, testing strategies, quality assurance principles, and laboratory management essentials. Past attendees consistently report improved diagnostic accuracy, stronger evaluative skills, and clearer insight into areas requiring further study.

The program features didactic lectures with end-of-topic review questions, an e-syllabus containing all presentation slides, and dedicated Q&A sessions focused on Blood Bank procedures and Clinical Chemistry. Anatomical Pathology lectures will run from Saturday through Tuesday, followed by Clinical Pathology sessions from Tuesday through Friday. Tuesday serves as an integrated overlap day, offering both AP and CP topics.

All sessions will be delivered through Zoom Cloud Meetings, enabling direct interaction with faculty throughout the course. Participants are encouraged to join using a computer with a reliable internet connection for the best learning experience. Complimentary access to the course recording will be available for streaming through June 7, 2026.

Objectives

At the conclusion of this course, participants should be able to:

  • Use the evidence-based information and practice tools presented to formulate differential diagnoses for most clinical scenarios better
  • Effectively apply current practice guidelines published by CAP, ASCP, and other major medical and governmental agencies
  • Recognize common patterns of test results and recommend additional tests, as needed, to characterize the etiology and prognosis of individual patient conditions
  • Identify indications and contraindications for transfusion and problems that might arise to advise better attending physicians
  • Apply strategies for integrating molecular and genetic testing into routine clinical practice
  • Describe the basic technique and pitfall avoidance of fine-needle aspiration biopsy performance
  • Apply increased knowledge of pathology to achieve specialty board certifications
